Michel Villeneuve
Cinematographer, 383 Pictures

Jason is an actor, producer, and social activist. Jason has appeared in various independent works over the last 10 years, starring in various independent music video, commercial and short film works. Working as talent with the likes of Sean Mendes and Lisa Mann, Jason has a breadth of experience working and collaborating on and off camera.


Jason co-created and worked as creative collaborator on eOne development's development of the digital series "Keep 6ix" (still in development). Jason's passion for telling stories extends to representing more people of colour on screen, and hopes to continue pushing for more inclusion in the business. Jason is a proud supporter of the Black Lives Movement.

With over 25 years served in the industry, Michel is an award winning cinematographer specializing in commercial, documentary and non-scripted television. With features having played on national broadcasters like NBC, MSG, CBC and TSN and having worked with brands ranging from Ford to Kraft, Michel has a vast portfolio of work in non-scripted television and branded content.


Representing the Blue Newt team comprised of experienced shooters including James Villeneuve and Alysha Galbreath, Michel brings a keen eye for story-telling and a passion to the business that is unparalleled.



Justin Arjune is a Canadian filmmaker with over ten years of experience. A passion for cinematography and editing, Justin is devoted to embedding himself within all types of social layers to share the poetic experiences life has to offer. He has cut everything from documentaries, commercials, short fiction films, music videos and series. His work has been broadcast regularly across Ontario, including on TVO, CP24, CTV, OMNI and TLN. His work has been to film festivals such as the Planet in Focus Environmental Film Festival, the Cleveland International Film Festival, New York Independent Film Festival, Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival and Toronto’s Indy Sportz Film Festival.

AJ’s career in photography took shape with his move to Toronto in 2010. As a photographer, he has done work for the NHL, the ROM, Hockey Canada, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games. Some of his work has appeared in such magazines as Macleans, Sports Illustrated, Sportsnet, the Hockey News and Stand Up Journal.  AJ has since turned his focus to directing and producing, as he co-directed and co-produced the feature documentary "The Cannons" with Steven Hoffner, due for release in 2020/2021.

Steven Hoffner
Founder, 383 Pictures

A seasoned storyteller, Steve is an award winning producer and director with over a decade’s worth of experience working in scripted, documentary, and branded content. After graduating from the University of Toronto in 2006, Steven was hired by the National Hockey League, where he worked as a Features Producer for NHL Studios, creating original documentaries and editorial features. His first half hour documentary Behind the Stripes: A Ref's Life, debuted on the NHL Network to critical acclaim and helped pioneer the HBO 24/7 series that soon followed. 


While with the NHL, Steven produced sports and lifestyle content for HBO, NBC, and CBC that registered millions of views and web awards for original series such as NHL Life, Off-Season Workouts, and the Draft Profiles. In 2016 Steven created 383 Pictures and has turned his focus to developing long form scripted and unscripted television content. The feature documentary set in Washington DC titled, "The Cannons" is scheduled for release in 2020/2021; the urban-drama Keep 6ix, a scripted drama series set in Toronto is currently in development, as well as other scripted and unscripted projects to be released in 2021 including "Live the Dream" and Georgia".


With 383 Pictures, Steven has also produced branded content initiatives with the likes of 7-Eleven, Lost Craft beer, PK Subban.com, and Connor McDavid's Power Edge Pro.
